This is a family park. With good picnic facilities and shallow swimming areas, with great views of the surrounding peaks a perfect combination for a family day out. Even when busy it still feels peaceful.

Beautiful small lake with relatively warm water, great for swimming; some sand along the shore was fun for kids to dig. Also enjoyed hundreds of tiny frogs along shore and pollywogs in water. Dramatic views of Cathedral Ledge above.

Echo lake is a great swimming spot for families with young children. Entrance is cheap, there is lots of shade and picnic tables, there is plenty of shallow water, the toilets are clean and the water is warm (unlike the Saco River). As an adult...More

We walked to the lake from a home we rented on Airbnb. It was off season, so no State park fees applied during the time of our visit.

I would assume yes but not sure. that said, it is not a very big body of water and i would not consider it a great place to kayak. you can walk around the entire lake in probably 20 minutes.
