We just stopped by due to the "Open House Today" sign on the side of the road. Nice volunteer was available to answer questions about the house and the family that lived there. Bonus was the very clean restrooms we found in the adjacent barn....More

We were interested in seeing the house but it wasn't opened. I'm not sure if you can usually go inside, a sign on the side door seemed to indicate that you could get in through the front. There was a pretty garden and interesting cemetery...More

The docent was very knowledgeable about the history of the old home. She was dressed in period costume and was baking gingerbread cake in a cast iron pot in the fireplace. Unfortunately it was not ready to eat while we were there, but it smelled...More

I stopped at this historic site twice and only the second time the house was open. I had a great time reading the interpretive information about the house and the contents. The story of Ruth Priscilla also known as the hermit woman is really amazing....More
