While there are a lot of machines to play, most of them are outdated and faded. Payouts aren't as good as most would like and the food options are mediocre. Try Peppermill or GSR if you want the best in gaming.

We checked in around 5PM and the line was ridiculous. There was only one person working the counter and later a second but with the amount of people waiting, it still took way longer than necessary. There were unnecessary people working at the other portion...More

Was quiet, clean, and well priced.. Enjoyed the feeling we got being there. Not so busy as Las Vegas. Easy to get around and more enjoyable to look around.

We arrived and grabbed the shuttle from the airport. The shuttle driver was rude and complained the enter way to the hotel about something no-one should ever know about is job. We then stood in line; in a completely empty, stinky, dated lobby, for 25...More

Small casino with not that many gaming tables. Not much excitement or fun. Nothing special. I think this used to be the place back in the day, but no longer.

We checked in at 10:00 am, despite the signs saying check in was at 4PM, and the reception staff was very obliging, supposedly because we were using our "Comps". Our room had been assigned, but I asked for a higher floor and we were moved...More

I will start with Harrah's Reno had some of the best employees I've encountered. The casino its self was very disappointing. It’s very small, and I could hardly find any quarter machines. Mostly penny and dollar. I thought maybe all the casinos in Reno were...More

i realize this is an old question but nobody has gotten it right!! Harrah's does NOT have a shuttle any longer. You must take a cab to and from the airport. They gave up their shuttle almost two years ago.
My mom booked a family vacation for us here. We are trying to make everyone happy. Most of us want to ski, but she needs a casino. Any advice, information on skiing while staying at Harrah's?

If you're staying at Harrah's Reno, I believe the closest skiing is at Mt Rose, which is a 35 minute drive if the roads are dry, probably longer if the snow is flying. Next would be Heavenly Valley, which is about an hour... More
