Cal Neva is unique in Reno; rather than being a hotel-casino like the majority of the neighboring properties, it's a condo-casino. The hotel rooms have all been converted to private residence condos. So this review will be dedicated to the casino and the restaurants. The casino occupies 2 buildings, a west wing and an east; a walkway on the 2nd... More

This is a locals casino, thus the Karaoke room is the most popular place. The blackjack and craps tables in there are $5 most of the time, and if you go upstairs guys will sometime find scantily clad women dealing blackjack in "The Pleasure Pit". Some might wish that some of them put their clothes back on, but there is... More

I like to see them give a little more back, complimentary meals for serious players would be nice. I don't like that there is only 1 cashier on the entire property, not convenient if your playing on the other side of it

I found the Cal-Neva to be an old style Reno casino, reminiscent of Reno casinos from back in the late 1980's and early 1990's. They have great food specials at the "Top Deck" restaurant. Steak, eggs, hash browns & toast for $4.99. Also prime rib & fries for $5.99. Both the steak and the prime rib are of good quality.... More

Didn't like the vibe here at all. Dark and dingy inside and out. It may be old but it doesn't need to be run down. What a shame.

There is a reason for the 4 on rating. The pit - dealers, boss and cocktail waitress. Played on a Monday night - dealers were so friendly and fun. Cocktail service great and quick and spot on. Played a few hours and walked away with money and new friends. Drawbacks - only restroom is up the escalator and long walk... More

We were really disappointed in the drink service there. Granted it's a tiny little casino but players are still spending money and like a drink. The other issue is that there is only one bathroom and it's on the second floor. This is really just a MEH casino

Whenever I'm in Reno I always make a point having several meals in the restaurant upstairs at Cal-Neva. Breakfasts are my favorite: eggs, ham, toast hash-browns for $4.99. I've also had dinners there, that I would rate as average and are in the $10 to $12 range. I also enjoy gambling there as I've found the employees helpful and it's... More
