My grandchildren, ages 7 and 9, especially love the exhibits at Wilbur May. Even when there are no exhibits they enjoy looking at the museum which contains MANY of Mr. May's personal items. We usually look through the museum, then continue on the the HUGE park. There are several playgrounds for the kids, a separate dog park, really nice picnic... More

Take in the museum and adjacent arboretum. There are event rooms, as well. Decent gift store. This is also a good place to take kids.

I've been going here since my children were little. The Exhibits are great, like the Dinosaurs, Reptiles, etc, But, I also love walking through the arboretum/outdoor path area, as it has hills and the right amount of benches. All of the trees have plaques telling the types/species, so it's a great learning area for adults and children.

I was so impressed with this museum. The history of Mr. May was the most interesting. The staff were very helpful. The collection of one man from all over the world is amazing. This is a must see for people that live here as well as those that are just visiting.

We actually went in here after the balloon race looking for a bathroom. We were truly amazed at this place. There were so many interesting artifacts and stories that we spent over 4 hours here. It was great and I highly recommend this hidden gem.

You see Wilbur May's name all over town. This little museum is a nice tribute to quite an adventurous gentleman. Approach it with an understanding that he collected trophies large and small, artistic creations or magnificent beasts.

Took my grandsons to a special snake exhibit some time ago. The exhibits were well presented and the boys found it all very interesting.

Anyone interested in learning about..what it must have been like to be an iconic adventurer and world traveler, a daring pilot in the day of open cockpit planes, art enthusiast and collector, and much more...would appreciate this fascinating and unusual museum dedicated to a man who seems to have "done it all", or at least tried! To do all that... More
