Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

No where else will you find something like this. We drove from south Alabama to see this road and were not disappointed.

The 375 doesn't have much on it really but of you are you are interested, this is an interesting place to say you have been!
The sign at the turn off from the 318 has been flattened by a truck and removed so you have to go all the way to Rachel to see it. You can stop right by it, there is space, take photos, touch it.
We went on an excellent tour from Las Vegas in a 4x4. It is an almost 2 hour drive from Vegas. Some would say its not worth the drive, the time and money but if you're into it, you have to!

Long straight aways and lots of desert landscape are the norm here BUT there are sights to see along the way. Starting with the Alien Research Center, an Alien painted rock that will sneak up on you in one of the rocky hills sections, the Black Mailbox, the Extraterrestrial Hwy sign (now located just short of Rachel and the Little A’le Inn) and of course the thriving community of Rachel NV.

The road to Area 51 is no longer marked but you’ll k ow it when you see it.

Classic drive through NV scenery with the extra draw of Area 51. Just BEWARE of driving at night due to free ranging cattle. They are everywhere and very hard to see in the dark. Should not go over speeds of 40-45 mph.

We got to see this sign on the way to Rachel, NV. The sign is way up high, so we left stickers on the metal posts. We got excited to see this sign and knew we were close to Rachel. Worth the drive.

This is a long stretch of road with lots of cows that are free to cross the highway so keep an eye out. More cows than cars for sure. Other than the town of Rachel that has the Ale'inn restaurant it's pretty lonely. You should stop by the little cafe as it has lots of interesting pictures and some pretty darn good blueberry pie! I've always heard about this highway so had to do the drive. Didn't see any UFO's though and it was a clear day - maybe next time......

We probably drove this route on one of the nicest, cool, partly cloudy day in April. The scenery is unimaginable, but yet, this Highway really doesn’t provide a truly unique experience that could not be obtained in other more interesting areas of Nevada. We did this on a lark in a circle from Las Vegas and staying in Tonapah. We highly recommend Tonapah with its historical renovations that will wow you. The Ale’inn in Rachel is just not enough to take a day out of your life, although interesting and humorous. We would do Route 66 in Oatman or perhaps go across the northern part of the state. Perhaps the drive from Reno to Vegas. We are on our way to Death Valley tomorrow and don’t regret our decision to do the Extraterrestrial, but we won’t be back for this drive. The “museum” continues to be closed.

The Extraterrestrial Highway (aka Nevada Hwy 375) runs from Hiko to Warm Springs across the Tonopah Basin and past Area 51. Be sure to stop at the Alien Research Center, The Black Mailbox and the Little Ale Inn. The road to Area 51 is not marked and you wouldn’t want to go there anyhow unless you like flirting with trouble. Most if the road is flat and straight and it is high country desert range land with alot of cattle roaming near the road so be watchful. Enjoy the ride, maybe you will see a UFO .......

A great day trip from Las Vegas, and lots to explore. Now that Rachel has an open gas station and general store made the trip much more enjoyable to explore around the Area 51 Base and nearby petrographs.

that was my lie dream, to drive along nothing an have a picture of the desert (nothing), except the entrance of the military base, well far in the backgroung. If you believe, you can't miss it, once the scenery is clear in front of you, your hart will start beating so much.
