A rare Ichthyosaurs fossil collection right here in Nevada. Easily accessible while at the Springs Preserve.

Nice presentation of displays but some sections did not seem to glow well, a little confusing. Enjoyed the experience.

This is a nice museum, with modern exhibits, movies and actual historical items well arranged. It addresses the flora and fauna of Nevada, its history and prehistory and has interesting special exhibits. Also located in a terrific development of the Springs Preserve.

We just planned an afternoon to spend for this attraction. But, once we have arrived there, we discovered that it would be a smarter choice if we came here earlier. This place is humongous. Thought it was only a building of museum, but in fact...More

We visited last week while in Vegas. The "flow" of the displays was confusing and we found ourselves at times going back to another part of the museum to make sure it either saw it all or to continue the displays. Two different times I...More

If you're looking for a way to avoid spending time in the casinos, this museum and nature trails complex is terrific. About a 15 minute drive from the strip and well worth it. Great exhibits, friendly staff.

We visited here mid-week and it was not very crowded. Please note, this is a very large complex with multiple indoor and outdoor exhibits. There is almost too much to see and do in one visit. Be prepared for a lot of walking in all...More

One member of our group isn't very keen on museums, but when that person was intrigued and engaged with the exhibits in the Nevada State Museum, you know it's a winner! These exhibits traced prehistory of the area, including many fossils, and displays on the...More

Covers the history of Nevada from a huge ichthyosaur and mammoth fossils to tools of mining for gold and silver, and includes Las Vegas items such as showgirl costumes and casinos. If you read the exhibit texts you will gain a real appreciation for the...More
