Retro cool

Very nice, old style feel. More laid back and comfortable then the Strip. Small enough to feel homey, yet, large enough not to feel cramped. Low minimum Roulette is nice.

Playing at the El Cortez brings you back to a finer day of old school gaming. They have a section in the back with coin operated machines for a fun afternoon of getting your hands dirty. I enjoy the old machines and hearing the coins hit the pan. There is an element of unsavvory characters but security is always around,... More

We heard about this place from reviewers who raved about the price and quality of their prime rib dinner, which immediately got my attention. So we gave it a try and voila, it was great! Service was prompt and attentive, although our gal forgot our salads, but made it up with free wine! Such a deal!

Yes there are rookies and drunks here, but $5 tables, 2 deck hands also. Slots are like 25% looser than on the strip. It's great once you've had a couple of drinkies.

$3.00 Roulette, fun crowd. Kind of smokey by todays standards. We spent a couple of hours playing roulette and came away $100 up. Had a great time. Fun to see old Vegas. Kitchy décor. Really good 3 piece band playing in the bar.

I took some friends here for a real original Vegas experience. They played some 25 cent roulette without the 'strip' pressure. As seems to be the norm downtown the dealer had some issues with the payouts which is frustrating. Some of the clientele were not as friendly as the strip with one patron swearing at a dealer at a craps... More

Very cool and vintage casino near Fremont Street. Within walking distance from the canopy. It has an old time vibe about it and everyone working there was exceptional. Worth a visit.

I play DDBP. They have 9/6 machines here at the bar and they Actually Pay : ). Also, the slots are the loosest in town I've played in a long time. I'll be back.

I sat down to play roulette, but seated next to me was an intoxicated man who made the experience very unpleasant. The man kept spilling his beer on the table felt and even on some of us seated next to him; yet casino management did nothing about him. Apparently, it had happened before I sat at the table as well.... More

I was here with my sisters - no option for just 'Family'. One of my sisters had really been wanting to play blackjack on one of the virtual setups and they had one here. We had a blast! This casino did not have the music blasting and there weren't the overwhelming crowds either. We could hear the 'dealer'. The dealer... More
