Rain and Fremont street are not all that fun! Lots of umbrellas and those, my friends, are similar to a big 'ol stick in the eye! However, it is always fun to roam from casino to casino downtown. They are near each other and in my opinion, payout much better than the strip.

We probably look forward to visiting/experiencing Fremont Street and downtown more than any other aspect of our trips to Las Vegas. We love the vibe, the welcoming attitude and down-home folk that one feels and sees there. The pomp and opulence of The Strip for sure has its place for us, and we stay there, but Fremont Street is unique.... More

I'm an unashamed snob when it comes to Las Vegas & Downtown, but on this trip I fell in love with "Old Vegas! & Freemont Street.. I hated Freemont St on previous visits due to pan handlers, street artist and the noise at nights against a background of rock music & the lights show, but after seeing the famous so called main Strip... Apart from the Strip, downtown LV offers more fun, but in less lavish style. It has it's own soul based on old Vegas where it all began. Walking the Fremont St., specially at night is a real must and not to be missed. The area is also cheaper than the Strip.

Overhead on Fremont street there is a canopy that shows mini films at night. The old casinos and old architecture are so unique and cool to see. The street itself, a little trashy with the street performers but all in all really a neat experience.

Loved "The Strip" but loved "Downtown" even more! Plenty to do and see, day and night. Cheaper than The Strip.

If you have not been to Fremont Street, you're missing out on the overall Vegas experience. It's a vibrant crowd with street bars and entertainers as well as live music shells. Try the zip-line in the tunnel above the crowds - it's an experience. A word of caution for those with children... We were there later in the night with... More

We were very happy at the convience of getting around downtown from one casino to another. On the strip its quite a walk from one to another, but downtown its like a big mall with vendors in the street and very attractive lights on the casinos and a light show at night. The prices for drinks are reasonable and casinos have good restaurants...
