I went with my family to the dam. it was majestic. Parking was difficult as the place was crowded with tourists, and it was particularly hot that day.

Well worth going but try get there earlier as they shut early at 4pm which is OK if you don't want a tour as parking is then free. Was windy when we went but hot so take a drink

We drove over this a couple of times after flying over it in a helicopter and we loved it. It's huge and full of videos etc to explain how it was built and why it's used today. Parking is a bit limited in some places...More

Took a Grand Canyon tour that stopped at the dam for a photo stop. This is a fantastic bit of engineering and a must see in Vegas. The trip was long but well worth the time.

Cool place to check out if you are in the Vegas area. Ensure you come here early. Parking becomes a nightmare otherwise!

You're over it before you know it. No warning. Very high and huge feat of engineering. To see it best... Get off at Hoover dam exit and go to the dam. You'll see the underbelly of the bypass along with the dam. A real site...More

Not too far from the strip we went on an organised coach tour with Grayline tours. They were efficient on time and a courtesy bus ferries you to the main coach and the start of the Strip. 30 mins depending on traffic you're there. We...More

We rented a car. However, while we were at the dam and bridge, we saw several tour buses. I guess you would have to see if the tour stopped at the bridge.

I can't imagine that you can fully appreciate the magnitude of this dam without taking the tour and going down into the belly of this beast. Yes the outside areas are incredible but even more so is what's underground and... More

I highly advise you rent or bring a mobility scooter especially if you are also visiting the Las Vegas area as it will be way too much walking for you. One block or two can talk a healthy person a half hour to an hour as the... More
