Interesting history
Apr 2021
Moderatel downhill climb at the beginning. Interesting historical markers (such as the robbers hideway). Very nice stop/short hike.

A world apart from the hot desert floor
Sep 2021 • Couples
It's hard to believe how there could be a slice of Colorado highlands in the Mojave desert but here it is. Get some cool air or time in the snow by day while enjoying all that the international city below has to offer by night.

Loved Mount Charleston
Sep 2021
Went up to Mount Charleston our ears popped a little from the higher elevation. I enjoyed seeing all the trees and grass up there I would go again it's cooler up there then when we were on the Las Vegas strip. It was a fun day.

Other people are ruining this place with their uncaringness
Aug 2021
We went to the part where you pay to get in where the picnic tables are and trails and there were large groups 2x with unbelievable loud music blaring and bouncing off the mountains. I mean this is supposed to be a place of peace and nature not taking your 20 kids and such and blare music. Was sooo horrible we couldn't stay and we paid 18 dollars entrance fee.

Top of the south
Jan 2021
Long walk to the top but well worth it when you get there. Amazing views. Prefer south loop over the north. Save enough energy for the last half mile. Its straight up hill.

When the strip gets too hot , this is the place to go !
Jan 2021
What can I say , but if you love the outdoors and want t to get away from the strip in Las Vegas this is for you ! There are quaint little cabins to stay at , a nice restaurant to eat in and about 20 degrees cooler then the desert floor and the strip. There are nice trails hike from beginners to the experienced . You would need to rent a car to get there from the strip, if you are just visiting for the casinos , but a nice break from the crowded Vegas strip if you are looking for a nice place to hike on your travel throng Nevada this may be for you.

Beautiful drive
Mar 2021
We didn't make it all the way to the top due to the snow, but the drive there was breathtaking! There were several areas to pull over to take in the scenery and to take photos.

NIce chnage from The Strip

At 7,000 foot elevation, Mt. Charleston offers a nice change of scene and climate from Lsa Vegas and is an easy hour's drive away. Not much to do there when the ski area is closed but there is snow and a couple of restaurants nearby.

Red Rock's Bigger Bro
Oct 2020
Who would've thought, only an hour away you can hike, snowboard, ski and find flowing natural waterfalls only an hour outside of the Las Vegas Strip? You'll probably get some quizzical looks by outsiders but for us locals its a sanctuary much like Red Rock!

Best part about living in Vegas
Sep 2020
Great hiking trails and a great escape from the desert. About an hour or so from McCarran Airport/The Strip.
