We enjoyed our drive thru the Red Rock Canyon area. Made a couple stops along the 13 mile drive for a pic or two of the awesome scenery. We chose not to visit the visitor's center which may have been a mistake since the restrooms along the 13 mile drive were locked, so be aware of the facilities before you... More

An easy drive off the Las Vegas Blvd. going west towards the mountains....a very pretty leisurely drive that allows you to just drive and enjoy the scenic views or put on your hiking boots to explore beyond the paved road. The rock formations are beautiful and some interesting stops along the way! Writings on some of the rocks from former... More

Take a break with nature and check out Red Rock Canyon. Fabulous views, great trails, picnic, or just drive through the park. Visit the information center first and get a guide and idea of what kind of experience you desire from your trip to the canyon. Dress for walking on trails and be sure to hydrate. This is the desert!... More

Bring your hiking shoes or not, You can hike on the trails or just look at the mountains from your car. If you hike there are several trails that are difficult so you need to be in great physical condition and bring lots of water. This is the desert.

Red Rock Canyon - breathtaking views - no need to pay for tour - if you have a car (or rent one), short drive from the strip, nice scenic drive around the canyon, you can stop along the way and do short or long hikes or just take in the view and continue driving the park.

The canyon is within a national park and although we only wanted to drive through on our way back to Henderson, the ranger talked us into taking the route - it was a bargain $7. I'm so glad we did - the reserve was breathtakingly beautiful, impeccably clean and the stops well maintained with great information boards. There were extensive... More

This short trip outside Las Vegas reveals the colorful and diverse nature in this area. I recently took friends from the East to Red Rock for a day. The trails are easily accessible and offer a variety of difficulty and length. The visitor center with the tortoise habitat and wonderful gift shop is a delight.
