Every trip to Las Vegas requires a trip to the Fremont Street Experience. Once we took a city bus there... that was fine, although some crazy people on the bus on the way back to our hotel near the strip at 1 a.m. Most recent...More

It was a destination that we wanted to see, and we left saying we saw it. I felt the area was dirty and my sensitivity to cigarette/marijuana smoke made my visit difficult to enjoy.

Loved walking Fremont Street. The crowds were not as busy as the strip. Still crowded but you are able to look up without worry of stepping into or on someone. Loved the light show and the easy access to all the open casinos. It's a...More

Nice flashy neon lights from old casino's but seedy in character. The road is closed in evening for the shows. The LED canopy is interesting amd the show lasts for 8 mins and it happens every hour from 8:00 pm.

The golden nugget is one of the oldest hotels and is still there. It's a fun place to visit. Shop. Go at night when the light shows are shown on the ceiling . Lots of food, vendors and shops to buy anything souviner.

Incredible light spectacle, and zip lining for daredevils; but due to the public nature ALL kinds of things can be found. Not for the faint of heart...nor family friendly. Well, it is sin city after all, right?

I love Fremont. People watching is incredible. There's usually a pretty good band. If you're up to it try the zip line.....coming from a person who's terrified of heights, it was worth it.

I would say staying at the Golden Nugget is a bonus for you. Freemont Street is free. There may be cover charges for some of the clubs at New Years. Great idea and great that you're planning early.

I would suggest parking where you are staying and take public transportation or Uber to any tourist attractions, it will be very difficult when you are ready to leave.
