About
Located in downtown Las Vegas, this pedestrian mall spreads over five blocks along Fremont Street. Home to many casinos and hotels—including Golden Gate Hotel and Casino and Binion’s Gambling Hall and Hotel—it's also known for jaw-dropping shows and fun activities, from free concerts to the 12-story SlotZilla Zipline. Come just before evening to catch Viva Vision, a light and sound show that takes place on the world’s largest video screen—an LED canopy that spans 130,000 square feet. To make sure you don't miss any of the highlights, there's a variety of day and night walking tours available. – Tripadvisor

    Better than the strip
We stayed downtown this trip and like it very much. We were there during the week, so it could be wilder during the weekend - but this was perfect for us. Not too busy, but fun bands to see while walking around. Nice to not have to walk a mile between casinos! We'll definitely be staying downtown from now on.

    I wouldn't bring the kids
And in Vegas in general, I might skip bringing the kids, at least to the strip and to the downtown area. Fremont itself was a neat experience. Obviously the zip line is cool, and the huge LEDs overhead are a cool sight to take in. That said, the entire place absolutely reeks of the smell of weed, the place is an absolute nuthouse featuring everything from people dressed like Freddy Krueger or Pennywise, to women that are essentially walking around in their underwear...I mean, I guess when you're in Vegas perhaps that's what you're looking for, but that said, I would not recommend bringing children down here as it's just not a kid friendly environment.

    Loud, happening place!
Lots of fun, lots of people and sights. Absolutely nowhere to sit and take a load off. The ceiling show now never stops, as it used to when last there in ‘02. Definitely a place to see at least once while in Vegas!

    Nice place to visit.
The canopy was nice. Not only the images going down it but the shade it provided. Everything was cheaper than the strip. Great place to eat. Buy stuff we had seen on the strip but at half the price. While we were there it was not too crowded. Was a nice chance to slow down and enjoy things. We left just as the night life was kicking off. A live band started Playing. It was so loud I couldn’t stay any longer.

Fremont St is the party scene!
Go here if you are in the party scene. Music is very LOUD & drinks are everywhere for purchase. Wear good sneakers or walking shoes. People are on the street always trying to sell you anything & everything. Expect to be bumped and jostled in the crowd. We took an Uber both ways as it was too far to walk from our hotel.

    It is an experience
No teens only adults. I think this is best experienced in the evening. They had free concerts with real acts. However, the action started in the late afternoon. There were cheap eats to be had. However, that didn't start until 4 pm. If you are going to bring little kids to vegas, this might be a place to bring them.

It’s an experience you can’t miss
We would highly recommend putting this on your must-see list (and if you are lucky, make sure you book the Neon Museum tour before visiting here to learn more about Old Vegas). This is the original Vegas with all the old, classic casinos that older generations remember such as the Golden Nugget or Vegas Vic. This part of Vegas has now been revived and is much more tolerable in terms of walking than the modern Las Vegas strip. It's quite entertaining too as there are great performances and acts throughout the street and when we visited, it also had what they called a Dancing DJ and she was a great DJ. Here is also where you will find the famous zipline and the IMAX-like ceiling which is the first thing you will notice walking into the main area. Again, we would highly recommend visiting here if you can as we were upset we missed all this excitement on our first trip but lucky enough to see it on our second.

Two Older Couples Find Something To Do
Flew in to LV to meet another couple for a 5 day vacation. We decided to checkout this place. Heard about this place a long time ago. It is also that my wife and I haven't been in LV in over 30 years. Cool place to come to for several hours. The area has shop, bar, casinos, and street entertainment. The gigantic TV screen 40 feet above is cool looking. The visual effect and the sound to the visual was cool also. There are at least 4 old time casinos to enter and exit from the street. This area looked like and open container area to drink your favorite beverage. We travel here during the daytime. Would be a little weary to come at night. But will try it the next time I come in a few months.

You don't have to spend money to have a good time
All we did was walk the street up and back. Very colourful, well patrolled and rather crowded if you're still wearing masks. But the street is lit up brighter than a Christmas tree. There is lively music up and down the street and if only stopping to watch for a song or two, it is well worth it. Many lively characters too. We didn't go on the zipline, so unsure of the cost. The smell of marjiuna is a little over powering at times. People were generally respectful of each other, having a good time. Drinks a plenty and casinos everywhere, it was a fun experience. We parked in a nearby parking station for USD $5.00

Visiting with my bestie who has never been to Vegas and while I've been several times, never made it here. IT IS AMAZIN! It's just so Vegas - lights, shows, musicians, restaurants, shops, people, showgirls and of course, my now personal favorite - Chippendales.
The light show above the pedestrian walkway is so bright, colorful and imaginative that I had to stop several times and stand still with my mouth agape at the display. Gee, tourist much?
Where else can you see some dominatrix, a juggles, a singer and a monk in the same block? Plenty to do, see and eat - and drink.
It felt fun and exciting and safe - which was nice. Took the Dues down to make it even easier and cheaper. And if you are staying on the Strip - there is a Walgreens to pick up some essentials that are mmuch more resonable priced.

I loved the overhead screen canopy and all the lights and videos displayed on it. It was fun to walk around and watch all the live entertainment. I did NOT like a basically naked woman with feathers and a g-string running out to me to hug me. She had ridiculous high heels so I was able to duck down and escape her. They can stand around and solicit their bodies all they want but I don't want to be chased down and forced to participate and pay them.

Overhyped but can visit, if you have time. Poor version of Vegas strip. Maybe I went with high expectation, so was disappointed.

You have to come to Freemont Street with an open mind. It's a bit wild and trashy, but you can have a great time if you embrace it. Pop into one of the casinos or crappy souvenir shops or watch live music at one of the stages. Definitely worth checking out and then if you walk to the end, you can find more "normal" bars and restaurants just across the street.

Came for the experience, once at noon as a couple, and once at night with a large group of friends. It was more of a tick of the box Vegas experience for me. I personally would rather visit other areas (The Strip) for partying and sightseeing - Fremont area made me feel unsafe. Even the local Uber driver told us to be really cautious. Nothing bad happened to us (thankfully) but I overall wouldn't recommend unless you come with a big group to enjoy the night out.

What a great experience with a massive amount of free entertainment. Love the fact you can walk around drinking beer. Plenty of touristy places on the side that you can buy trinkets and you got a bump into the golden nugget and have a look at what’s going on there quite interesting. A must experience with anybody visiting Las Vegas.

The light show and music are very good. There are many rough characters that made us feel unsafe and detracted from our enjoyment. They need more security and to clean up the agressive beggars.
