We stopped in to see the lake up close, as tourists. We paid the park fee and drove in. It was well worth it. This lake and beach are magnificent. I was in awe at its beauty. Go to the right of the restaurant, that beach is small but gorgeous. The water was crystal clear! Just amazing! If you go... More

Boyfriend took me here for an impromptu birthday outing from Sac. Being from So Cal, he's never been in the winter wonderland of Tahoe, so it all blows him away. That said, this place is gorgeous! There's a beautiful natural cove, with rocks, trees, mountains, water, sand, and snow (in the winter). It's an amazing mix of textures and seasons,... More

One of the best treasures of Lake Tahoe. Sand Harbour is about 20 mins drive from South Lake Tahoe. There is a $12 per vehicle entrance fee per day. The area is popular for swimming, cooking out, banana lounges and photography. There is also a scenic boardwalk which takes you up around the rocks to viewpoints. Beautiful spot to spend... More

Beautiful place to visit alone or very romantic place for a couple during the off Season!!! Also if you are looking for a more lively time, summer is best!! Wonderful beach with the most gorgeous water, but you will have to share! Locals and others like to bring their boats to this area and have a great time!😎

Absolutely gorgeous place. Lake Tahoe has to be the most beautiful place i've ever seen. Great for photography and laying on the beach all day. Paddle boarding was offered and there are rocks for climbing and you can jump off one of them into the water. Crystal clear blue water, although it's a little chilly! If you're planning to go... A lovely location to spend a couple of hours to admire the serenity of the lake. Took my children here and we walked around and played on the rocks. Just a splendid location to relax and taken in beauty.

This is one one biggest, most beautiful..and popular beaches in Lake Tahoe. Sand harbors gradual slope into the water makes the water in the harbor warmer that a lot of other places..this also makes it safer for kids. Lots of facilities there for food, drinks and rentals of all kinds. This is somewhat of a family oriented beach (partiers often... More

Wowsers! Total paradise. Thankfully we visited in early December. There were only a handful of people in the entire area. So for us, it was breath taking. Unspoilt and awe inspiring. The water is crystal clear. The sand soft and golden. The pine trees tall and imposing. I can't recommend this place more highly. But visit out of season to... More

Usually overcrowded like beaches in Southern California. There is a fee to go there. Internal driving paths are dangerous. Gorgeous view from the shoreline If you can get in. Spring and autumn are less crowded. .

We went there just few days after the winter storm. Really nice to see amount of snow contrasts with the sky and the sea. There are little trails that you can walk around the area too.
