I trail run and hike this with my dogs and its best during the cooler months. I use dirt trails off the main trail as I have found "shady" rest spots for me and the poocheslike a cave up high overlooking a great valley and some overhangs where we can rest from the heat. But we try to start early... More

We had heard about the Mountain loop trail and you can see parts of it from the highway so after a big lunch at the Jokers Wild casino in Henderson we decided that a nice COOL day hike was just the thing to do. LOTS of cactus were blooming (it was mid April) and there were even more tiny 'belly... More

I chose this trail so that I could just ride and look around and not have to deal with traffic, what a great choice! It was challenging with all the up hills and great fun with the downhills. I rented a roadbike in Henderson and rode about 9 miles each way to it, then I detoured off of it and... More

Breathtaking views and super well maintained path. Had s great time on the trail and saw a few other people while out there. We did a walking/hiking "hike" but many out there were riding bikes. Weather was great for this time of the year but I imaging it can get brutal in June-Sept. Would recommend hopefully be back one day!

This loop is nearly 60 km, varied terrain, lots of climbing and downhills. Great for winter training. The beautiful desert scenery is a great bonus. If you head out towards Lake Mead at 8 AM you can have short rests at Boulder Beach and then Hoover Dam, stopping for lunch at Boulder City. Then head up to the mountains overlooking... More

The path is cool, well-maintained and smooth mostly, and you get some nice views of the hills and desert-scape. Little dips and rolls make it fun and occasionally challenging. Take lots of water as there is none available near this path. I headed west from Lake Las Vegas and the path sort of just disappears, with poor signage and directions.... More

What a gem! We love to walk and this loop offers everything. You can walk on the 35 mile paved loop or wander onto the dirt trails. Check out the website and print the map to see where there is water, restrooms, park ranger stations, parking lots etc. for the section you choose to walk. You'll see hikers, bikers and... More

Walking, riding, or running the loop trail goes around Henderson, Boulder City, and Lake Mead. Various access points. In Henderson you can drive to Equestrian Park or Railroad Pass Hotel and casino. In Boulder City there is an access area above St. Judges home for children. I believe the entire loop is around 35 miles but you do not have... More
