Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a hidden gem in the Tahoe area. Easy hike around lake lined with pines and aspens. Great fall colors.

We went for the stargazing and Perseid meteor shower viewing. The educators from the Cosmoarium provided an excellent presentation with fun mini-quizzes and giveaways. Unfortunately, cloud cover and drizzle prevented us from using any of the high-tech stargazing equipment, so they refunded our admission. Everyone present declined the refund because the presentation and educators were so great, but they refunded us anyway. We would definitely do it again! Bring a stadium cushion to sit on if you have a sensitive rump, the amphitheater has rough-hewn stone bench seating.

We paid $15 to park and it is basically a walk in the woods around the lake. It is a nice hike but I preferred Van Sickle Bi-State Park. The Van Sickle hike is in the woods but an overall better hike. Van Sickle is also free parking

Lake trail is level and about 2 miles long. We went last fall and again this spring. Fall colors were beautiful and not many people were there. Good place to commune with nature. Parking costs $10.

We decided to do the lake loop, 2.1 miles. A rolling hike that has great views all along the trail. Neat trees, plants, signs of life. Neatest thing was this ant hill. Almost 3 feet high

Spooner lake is a wonderful destination for an easy hike in Lake Tahoe. Pretty much a level 2.1 mile walk, it takes in all the fall colors, the bird life on the lake as well as in the bushes and trees surrounding. There are many markers along the way to share the history and the highlights of nature at Spooner Lake. I highly recommend this for a short partial-day trip.

Spooner Lake is a lovely 2.1 mile hike with quiet views of mud ducks on the lake. Parts of the trail lead you to aspens and pines and first trees. There are picnic tables and plenty of parking. Bring your binoculars for bird watching!

Spooner Lake is a manmade lake and the starting point for many hiking and biking trails. There's a 2-mile loop around the lake which makes for a nice leisurely hike. It roughly follows the shoreline so you have nice views of the lake, meadows and surrounding mountains. If you're looking for big sweeping vistas, this isn't the place. But the high mountain meadows have always been a favorite of mine so I really enjoyed the hike. It's relatively flat and well marked. It's a trail and not a sidewalk so it might tough for someone with mobility issues.

This is a beautiful lake with a flat 2.1 mile hike around. Scattered along the trail are memory benches in honor of loved ones and placed perfectly for rest and reflection. The sad thing are the bags of dog poop along the trail.
