Annual golf trip to some place different every year during Labor Day weekend. This year it was a drive from Seattle to South Lake Tahoe. Drove from Seattle to Klamath Falls Oregon for a one night stay at the Running Y ranch. Played golf at the resort course which offers walking, cart and a motorized scooter. Stopped in Reno played... Played both the lakes and ranch course. Heard the lakes was the stronger course, but personally enjoyed the side hill ranch course. The lakes was completely soaked with water, to the point of being borderline unplayable. Chipping near the green was miserable with that amount of water, and the greens were in so-so shape. And the traps were in awful... More

It's a little dry in some areas of the fairway or else I'd give a top rating, but the greens were smooth and true. Amazing views from the valley floor and especially entertaining when we saw cattle grazing, deer, coyotes, and an eagle. Driving range and practice area are great. Afternoon rate (1:00) was just $85 and we had the... More

The view of the mountains is enjoyable but what I liked was the variations in all the holes. There's a little bit of everything in this layout. It's only 30 minutes from Lake Tahoe and not on any of the guidebooks. It's also reasonable priced compared to the Tahoe courses.

Have played the course a number of times, usually in July or Aug., and I like the course and the staff, but this week the greens were horrible, it was like putting on a waffle iron. Its worth playing but call first to check on the course condition.

If you're looking for a great course, head here. There are two courses – Lakes and Ranch. We played the Lakes twice in one day because the Ranch had been sanded a few days before. Excellent course. Great service at the snack bar – breakfast burritos and hot dogs awesome. The greens and fairways were excellent and in great shape.... More

What a surprise! Late Sept. and the day was warm, no wind and the course was perfect! The first nine are nice, and wind around some residential areas; but the back nine was the best! Big trees, great views, wildlife and all on the golf course This place is a hidden treasure. The course is not too long for a... More

This course was one of the better maintained courses I have been to. Gas golf carts which I prefer electric. Attentive staff. Water in our carts was nice. The BEST Bloody Mary so I had two! I felt this course gives you full service for a very reasonable cost. We played the ranch course. Great job!

Overall: Had a group of 8 guys play 36 holes at Genoa (18 on Ranch and 18 on Lakes course) in early August 2015 for a bachelor party. Across the board, our group truly could not have been more pleased. Really fun/interesting courses and a laid back atmosphere and staff that made everything very low stress and fun. Service: We... Played Lakes Course on 6/13/2015 in the early morning. Course was immaculate. Fairways were in great shape and greens were perfect. Scenery around this track are really beautiful. From the Gold tees, this course is very tough. The Combo tees give you a good variety of holes to either challenge you or allow you to take advantage of holes that... More
