Great campground near Carson City and Reno. Excellent views of the Sierras and lots of trails to hike or horseback on. Hot showers, flush toilets, sun ramadas.

A high desert/Great Basin lake next to the Sierra Nevada. Has beautiful views. Easy to get to, right off of Highway 395/580. Great for walking, bicycling, hiking, running, or just relaxing. Also great for kayaks or canoes. However, it can get windy out there. There...More

Each campsite has a new overhang and large picnic table. Sites are fairly large and separated for privacy. The lake is a short walk away. No hook-ups, but price is right at $15 per night.

This is a delightful area to view the high desert terrain, and I had visited hoping to hike. Park ranger was pleasant and helpful - recommended trails to hike, places to park, things to watch out for, so A+ there. However, NONE of the trails...More

Drove to the lake on a Thursday. As we drove south along the east side of the lake, we saw a huge herd of deer on the left, in a field. Several bucks, lots of does. I'm sure the lake is what attracts them. There...More

Hard to tell from the website. Water sports listed. You can call the Park Ranger from their website: parks.nv.gov [slash] parks [slash] washoe-lake
