Excellent buildings and parklike space

I came here because we just moved to Nevada. The Capitol has a small museum inside that was once the home of the legislature. I tried to meet one of my representatives but no one... read more

There were a few rooms brought back to original splendor of 1870-71 when it was built. State Trooper was very helpful and prepared the Capitol Collection Passport stamp for us while we were touring. Secretary of State's assistant allowed us in to see old vault doors behind which many of the state's documents had been stored. Beautiful building and great... More

We enjoyed our tour of the capitol. We called in advance to book a time. We arrived early and our guide (Dan Neverette) was ready to take us. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot.

What a beautiful building! The officer at the front desk encouraged us to tour the Capitol Building and recommended we view the Supreme Court office on the second floor. While walking through the Capitol, we noticed a guide leading a tour. We joined his tour and learned interesting information about Sara Winnemucca, Nevada governors, etc.

I called to find out about tours at the Nevada State Museum as we had a limited amount of time in Carson City and also wanted to see the Capitol. The woman I spoke with was incredibly friendly and arranged a tour for my husband and I for both the Museum and the Capitol. Our guide was Sam and he... More

This was the surprise hit of our trip to Nevada. We stopped by with our kids and they totally loved the place. There is a small museum on the second floor which was thoroughly enjoyed by the kids. The officer at the reception desk was very nice and told us of all the interesting things we could enjoy. We even... More

While on vacation in Nevada and Carson City, my girlfriend and I visited a few attractions in town to include the capitol building. We were first greeted by a very friendly and helpful state trooper. Once we began walking around on the self guided tour, a gentleman asked us if he could help us. Not knowing who he was, we... More

Though it was a Saturday and the building was closed, the grounds are lovely, and there is an interesting veterans memorial directly behind the capitol.

I came here because we just moved to Nevada. The Capitol has a small museum inside that was once the home of the legislature. I tried to meet one of my representatives but no one was available. There was a lot of construction on Main St so park around back. Contact your reps before you come here if you want... More

My wife and I self-toured here during our recent visit to Carson City. They've managed to restore and update the building while maintaining the history and grandeur of the original structure. The exterior is quite impressive, and the grounds beautifully maintained. Inside, the first two floors are open to the public. We enjoyed the rich wood staircases and railings, authentic... More
