I found this by accident, one day when out for a walk. It wasn't open, but the beautifully restored equipment could be seen through the windows. When I went in to the fire station to ask about hours, they simply opened the museum for me!...More

Working fire station. Walk in and they will be happy to open the museum door. Great place to chat with the firemen. Attached to a large dog friendly park. Within a block of the Carson Mall.

This museum is a hidden gem in Carson City, but worth the visit if you would like to see historic fire fighting apparatus. There is even a Hunneman hand pumper, which I think was from the 1840s. The volunteer staff member was very informative and...More
