The path up the Monument along the east side is closed indefinately due to a rock slide. You can still walk the highway to the top along the west side and through the car tunnels for beautiful vistas of the Platte River Valley. Park staff...More

We were last car down as the thunderstorms rolled in. Dramatic evening light contrasted with the gentle morning-after-the-night before. Very helpful and knowledgeable NPS staff who were happy to engage in an extended and fascinating conversation with us. A little gem in the NPS collection.
