After finally stumbling upon this site I found it interesting. It would have been better had original grave markers been left in place. The resident kitty cat was quite friendly. Nice stop over for the history. Not enough signs to direct you to location.

We were doing a volkswalk (AVA.org) and this cemetery was along the route of the walk so we stopped, read all the info, and climbed the steps to view the cemetery. It was interesting and I would recommend it to anyone traveling thru the area....More

Nice place to visit did the tour on are own but would recommend taking a guided tour since we did not know all the history behind the cemetery. We only knew about Buffalo Bill and Calamity Jane.

The Ogallala cemetery is one of many 'boot hill' cemeteries in the west. Pamphlets and several plaques are onsite, giving the story of some of the people who were buried here. You'll spend less than an hour here. But it's worth a visit, if you're...More

With all the hipe I have been brought up with regarding boot hill, it was a little disappointing when we actually got there. That being said, when in Ogallala, it is a must see - just for the experience.

Was a bit disapointed.....there just isn't much there and what is in not authentic...nice statute...a few stories of what was there but all "grave sites" are "restored" and graves were moved years ago

The dangers of getting to Boot Hill are hardly worth it. The locals have no respect for speed limits, stop signs, the right of way, or pedestrians, so you may need a Boot Hill trying to get to this one. There is some historical information,...More

We mainly stopped because Ogallala is mentioned in Lonesome Dove...;) My husband and I like history, so this place was interesting to us. It was difficult to find, and we actually drove past it and had to come back. But it was a neat little...More

I just recently visited this site in Ogallala after reading several reviews. It was a nice diversion from today's world. Climbed the steps after reading some pamphlets below. It was a sunny day, but the cemetery was very stark and windy. I realize it is...More

Although a bit difficult to find, there is no true address and located in a residential area, it was worth the visit. You have to climb a long set of steep stairs to get to the actual cemetery but it is worth it when you...More
