This is the largest train yard, and wow is it big. The size is enormous, but it's so big that you really don't get to see too much of it. But it is a fascinating place. If you're a train buff, this would be heaven.

Eight miles long, it is tough to see it all. The placement of the tower is perfect to overlook the most active area. We hope you enjoyed your visit.

There is usually action going on all day long. There is a shift change at 3:00 pm and things typically stop and don't pick back up until about 4:00 pm. It is hard to say the very best time because it really depends on yard... More

The closest ice rink is in Kearney NE, 90 miles east of North Platte.
