We travelled with 3 kids over the weekend of the Juneteenth celebration. This is a great stop for a short history lesson. The staff was extremely helpful and even passed out flashlights for the kids to visit the 'cave.' This was a great stop.

I found this to be extremely interesting. The lady "hosting" was very knowledgeable regarding not only its history but the layout and artifacts. I am SO glad to have taken the time to explore here!

The history of this place is very interesting and the village portion fun too when they are doing the reenactment stuff. Otherwise, it's a cabin and a cave with history.

How cool! There is a nice little museum and you can actually go in and explore the cabin and cave. Great history of slavery in Nebraska. Must do!

We came to tour the cabin and cave and read the history and it's only open Thur. thru Sunday noon to 5pm. Disappointing, but we'll come back another time since we're both very interested in the history!

Growing up, this was one of the most fascinating stories I heard. And descriptions of the attraction in the good old days was amazing. But this is not the attraction it once was. Dirty, poorly lit, poor exhibits, and really needs to be closed.
