Beautiful mosaic ceilings and floors, paintings and sculptures inside the 400-foot high capitol building are as impressive as its marble, bronze and gold leaf exterior and white tower topped by a bronze statue. Free guided tours are available.

Modern building on the outside with a high dome inside. Much mosaic in the flooring and numerous other pieces of art throughout. Only drawback is the lighting. It relies a lot on natural light so the electric lighting doesn’t do much. We were there on a rainy day so could barely see the detail.

Walked in and looked around and was awed by the dynamics and contrast of colors and resources used. Lots of great limestone with a backstop of dark colored wood then with mosaic tiles on the floors. Tons more on the ceiling and around the rotunda. But then when we went on the tour, it only took 20 minutes and was... More

Our grand Capitol is full of marble, art work, murals and beauty. It's worth a visit to go high up in the building to see for miles.

I have visited over 30 capitols, and this is one if the most impressive. The mosaic work throughout is amazing! We took a tour; our tour guide was less than enthusiastic, but was knowledgeable. Surprisingly, there is no security to go through here. This is a must-see building.

Nebraska State Capitol was beautiful. Must see. Everyone was very friendly. Gift shop ladies were extremely helpful with other must sees and to dos in Downtown Lincoln.

I have seen other capitols but non can compare to this one. The intricate designs and details are among the best. However if you are looking to buy tourist"junk" don't come on the weekend because the gift shop is closed. The tours are fantastic showing the meaning behind the scenes of the Capitol.

One of my favorite buildings. So many lovely details, mosaic tile floors, original design of light fixtures, a beautiful view from the 14th floor, and lovely paintings. Look at the library and glance up on your way out.

Norwegian friends came to visit; of course our State Capitol was #1 on our list of places to take them. Ended up not having time for a guided tour, but still got enough to make a great impression.

We were a family of four driving from the east coast to Wyoming. On our way back, we stopped in several state Capitols. This was my favorite, and actually the only one we arrived at in time to go inside. It is gorgeous and still has so much of its original early 1900s features. You can take an elevator up... More
