Sunken gardens at 27th and Capital Parkway, as I have been told, was the garbage dump at one point in the history of Lincoln. As long as I have lived in Lincoln it has been a peaceful and sweet place to take a walk through....More

Lincoln is a small city and Sunken Gardens is just good for a small city. It is beautiful during Spring-Summer (It is often too hot during the summer days, better to go there at night in summer). However it is a tiny park and do...More

This garden spot packs a lot of Beaty in a small location. Several different, accessible levels provide close-up and ‘vista’ views of water features as well as a wide array of trees and annual plantings. Great for singles, couples, families and groups.

Every year they plant different things and have beautiful designs...it’s a must go see towards late summer when everything full grown and colorful. Beautiful place to visit and take pictures.

Literally..the city used to dump refuse here. The city gardeners knock themselves out with the plantings. You gotta get in there and just sit. Then climb to the west elevation..and sit.

An absolute treasure in the middle of the city! After living in Lincoln for almost a year, I finally decided to stop and take a closer look at this beautiful oasis. The colors are breathtaking and the amount of planning and upkeep must be extraordinary....More

I have been here a couple times. The beauty changes through spring, summer and fall. The hardscaping.... brickwork, trellises, statues, fountains, etc. make this an interesting and beautiful place to visit in the wintertime.

The area of the garden is small but the impact is large! The garden is amazing. I talked to a volunteer who advised the theme and colors are changed each year. Just an amazing garden worth a stop.

With a different theme each year, the 1 1/2 acre lot developed in 1930 and renovated in 2004 is a must see if your in the Lincoln or Omaha area. There are over 30,000 individual annual plants. 2018 is almost over, so you do not...More

Lincoln’s Sunken Gardens is small—about a square city block—but in my estimation on par with Butchard Gardens in Victoria—on a much much smaller scale. It is the restoration of an old gravel pit so when you are in the gardens the rest of the city...More

The end of May is just fine. The gardens are planted so that there are different plants blooming all season. It's really lovely at night too.
