Great park to go for a stroll. There are places to stop for a rest, you can walk across the dam or feed the ducks. You can boat if you're into that, but you cannot swim. If you're up for a round of golf, the golf course is next to the lake.

Nice place to walk around the water and feed the geese running around. There is a play place for the kids and bonus some hills for sledding in the winter. Good place to go thats free

Walk around the lake on a maintained path, enjoy the children's park, watch a softball game or go fishing. Much to do and enjoy. You can watch the waterfowl and may even catch a glimpse of a fox.

We really enjoyed the observatory at night. They have it set up with three telescopes and people there to answer questions. The park is nice with areas for children. Nice place to walk or just relax. It was really cool when you could swim in the lake but those days are gone.

Whoever it was who set aside these lands for a park was a genius! Our family continues to love being at this park. The views of the lake are very stunning and it's just right there in the middle of town! The addition of gravel walking/running paths a few years ago made the park even more enjoyable and you can... We try and walk around the lake at least once a month. It is so beautiful this time of the year with the geese and the changing leaves.

We played here 3 times in late September while visiting Lincoln. The golf clubhouse staff were so nice and helpful - made us feel like locals. The course was well maintained and challenging enough for my husband who plays regularly. I am a beginner and took lessons. Again, the instructor was so kind and the lessons taught me a lot.... I really enjoy coming to Holmes Lake for a nice, long walk to relax as often as possible. The paths are well maintained and it's a beautiful view. The people (and dogs) that you meet along the way are usually very friendly. :) There is some flooding that happens sometimes so it can get pretty muddy if there has been... More

The lake is a pretty body of water, all the more so in the land of endless fields. The walking path is broad, well maintained, and a nice distance around. The perfect place to walk the dog (on a leash), with an off lease dog park just across the street. Lots of parking, grass to play in, picnic areas -... More

Holmes Lake Park is an urban gem. Holmes has it all: a 100-acre pond, walking/biking trails, golf course, picnic shelters, volleyball courts, ball fields, and a dog run. The fishing is pretty good for bluegills, crappies and catfish. Catching bass takes some knowledge and a boat is a handy tool. Lots of people use the walking trails and recreation areas.... More
