We were a group of one adult, two teenagers and three kids under 11. The trip was brilliant for all of us. Fun and adventurous, especially the kids. Took about 1 ,1/2hours which passed very quickly but also enough, climbing up the lighthouse was so amazing as its so much bigger than it looks. Mary and Alan were so friendly and a great laugh, they seem like a couple who utterly love their work, especially sharing their knowledge of local history.

A group of 4 of us went on the Fenit boat tour to the lighthouse on the 11th of June. Mary, Alan and John were absolutely fantastic, we thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to all ages. The journey is short from Fenit harbour to Samphire Island, where the lighthouse is located, but Mary makes great use of this time to fill you in on the history of the harbour. The lighthouse and it's grounds are marvellous and an absolute feat of engineering. The blue granite and stone masonry are enough to warrant a visit! The plans of the lighthouse are available and show the precision to which it was built, meaning no waste was incurred. John was very informative about the timelines and the history of the lighthouse and the people who would have lived there. The views are fabulous and it is such a peaceful place and so unspoilt. It is a tour I would even take again. Very reasonably priced and accessible for families.

I boarded the boat from the Fenit pier to be greeted by an extremely friendly woman named Mary and her husband and captain, Alan. I felt welcomed and safe as Mary helped me with my life jacket. As we left the pier Mary introduced herself and Alan. Let the views begin! As we travelled along Mary exhibited this wealth of knowledge about the Tralee coast and pointed out landmarks such as the lighthouse ( great stories about the previous inhabitants) as well as interesting facts about St Brendan the Navigator. Mary has a light and funny way of presenting information. She made me want to know the facts. One of the children got to take the helm of the boat under the guidance of the captain. I got to see St Brendan's statue facing the US. Seeing him from that view was entirely different than seeing him on land. The highlight for me was getting off on Samphire Island. Yes samphire grows there in abundance and sea spinach. Our group sat there enjoying a snack walking the island. The views were spectacular. Our tour was 2 hours probably weather dependent.
The value of the trip was unbelievable and certainly not to be missed. I recommend this over tour any I have experienced in Ireland. Great for all ages.

If you want a knowledgable local guide, that can tell you about the wildlife, plants, local history and have fun whilst doing it? Then this is for you. An easy relaxed safe journey around the lighthouse and bay. Both Mary and Alan are superb. Throw in a bit of fishing and kids driving the boat and you're onto a winner. The No 1 thing to do in the area. Even our dog was made welcome. Excellent trip. A must do if you're in the area.

As a local living in the area, this boat trip has always been on my list to do.
I got lucky today and had the chance to join the tour and I don't regret a moment of it.

Like all things in nature nothing is predictable and we got lots of surprises from the visiting wildlife on this trip, not least the excitement that you can see I felt by handling a live healthy jellyfish for it to be returned to the sea and a wonderful experience had .

We sailed around in calm waters on a beautiful day looking out for dolphins, seals cormorants and all the other amazing wildlife that lives just out of sight if you stay on the land.

You have to take a trip like this to really understand how beautifully preserved the wildlife and the nature is in Kerry. Alan and Mary are incredible hosts, knowledgeable about the sea and they have a boundless encyclopedic knowledge of the flora fauna and history of the area and the animals that live within it.

The boat is well equipped completely safe with spare life jackets and life raft and this trip is licenced to land on Samphire Island to view the lighthouse

Met 2 more sea legends today for the 1st time the amazing Mary O Brien Browne and her wonderful husband Alan @Tralee Bay Experience Fenit. It is practically on our doorstep and after 2 hours out around Fenit and a trip to the lighthouse, I am completely blown away with the knowledge these 2 fantastic folk shared, not only of Fenit, but of Marine life, History, tides, the lighthouse, The channel from Blenerville and Fenit from the 1800's right up to the present day, St Brendan, Sapphire Rock, the starting point of Liebherr. 3 Dolphins came our way and the excitement on the children's faces said it all. A mother dolphin, her daughter and another female relation. Haven't the words to recommend this trip enough @ Tralee Bay Experience Fenit . These people are the best hosts of the sea, captivated the minds of the children, Teens and Adults on board and the Respect shown for the sea and marine life would restore faith in humanity.
A holiday at home.

We went out on the evening tour on a Sunday in April - a very last minute decision on a busy weekend for the tour because there was a festival taking place locally, yet they happily fit us in. Can't recommend the tour enough, particulary Mary, the tourguide - the trip was incredibly comfortable and relaxing, with plenty of room to walk around on board and stretch your legs, or sit down and enjoy the views, while Mary provided great humour and an absolute wealth of knowledge about everything from the history of the area, to local lore and mythology, to ecology, conservation and wildlife trivia. Every question that was asked, she had an insightful and cheerful answer for, and made everyone feel so welcome - she even personalised some of the information for some Spanish tourists, emphasising some of the links to Spain with the local area's history. She helped everyone get multiple photos and selfies - truly going above and beyond. Her passion for the area and the subject was clear, owning in part to her own family's long history in the area. We even got to stop and take a walk on the local lighthouse, where we were shown some of the local flora (some of it edible!). Overall, a wonderfully enjoyable and great value experience - it's definitely something I'll be doing again, and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tralee Bay.
