Stay over Raynolds Pass in Idaho on Henry's Fork of the Snake, to avoid the West Yellowstone crowds, but book early.

A very large lake, fully frozen, as I visited in the peak of winter. It is in a beautiful, narrow valley. Could sight mountain sheep in this valley, next to the lake

The scenery is both breathtaking and heartbreaking. What families woke up to was so unexpected and so well documented.
