We had a little time before our flight from Helena, and decided to take a look at the State Capital. The Capital building was open to the public, free of course, and very easy to walk though to see the artwork, statues and great architecture.

Enjoyed walking through the Capitol building. There was a guided tour, but we didn't have that much time. The stained glass windows, the very large paintings about Lewis and Clark, and the beautiful rotunda were certainly worth the visit.

We took a wonderful tour of the Montana State Capitol. If you have time, it should be a must do on your itinerary.

The State Capitol is full of interesting artifacts about Montana. The architectural history of the building is quite fascinating. There are sculptures and memorabilia located in different locations. We met quite a few politicians and staff. A good experience overall!

Check the times and avail yourself of a 1 hour free docent led tour of the capital. It is an interesting story indeed of how this building came to be with add ones, remodeling and finally restoration.

The stained glass windows are spectacular and the marble that is everywhere is incredible. The western artwork is fantastic and you really get the old west feel.

Having seen most of the state Capitals .. the Montana State Capital Building in Helena is very impressive. The most interesting feature were the huge Old West Murals around the building. Go see the Montana State Capital .. it's worth the trip and the time.

Adequate parking in very near proximity to the front entrance. Lovely grounds and gardens makes for a lovely stroll around the grounds.

You need to go to the capital's website for this info, they do not hold session every year.
