why didn't the city revitalize this area instead of adding another dead area in the great northern mall. so sad to see this - so few people around, so few stores, so few restaurants

This is certainly a pretty walk for anyone visiting the capitol city. There are a number of interesting shops and restaurants. The buildings are beautifully restored and interesting to view. Plus there is an ice cream shop.

This is a quaint spot to visit when in Helena. Downtown restaurants and shops, river built into the sidewalks to follow, a waterfall and some statues of bears to pose next to. We also enjoyed the musical garden.

We plan to be in Helena next July. Would it be more fun to walk around Last Chance Gulch on a Friday evening or on a Saturday during the day? If most things close up by 6 or so, we will probably go somewhere else that first night.
