They had done an excellent job on this underground tour and things are staged as they really were in the days when it really was underground. Our guide was a retired history teacher so really knew her stuff. Tour takes about an hour and is well worth the visit.

The promotional literature claims that this is a recreation of an underground town that sprang up after fire destroyed the businesses above. Some of it is, and these rooms are very interesting. However, many of the rooms are just collections of donated bric a brac organized around themes. Some rooms, like the ice cream parlour, were brought wholesale from elsewhere.... More

Never saw anything like this. Guide w as knowledgeable and it took about an hour. Part of wild West history that isn't really talked about. Learned a good bit.

So I'm giving a review of my own town and a very unique attraction that you won't see anywhere else. In 1904 a fire destroyed roughly 55 different businesses in the rough railroad town of Havre, MT. So instead of rebuilding many businesses used the basement areas and built tunnels connecting them underground. There were opium dens, dentists, bordellos, drug... More

The Beneath the Streets experience was educational and quite interesting. You are introduced to a lifestyle that was hidden from most of the residents in Havre. It is definitely worth the time and money. You do need to dress warm because it is mighty cool down there. I went on this tour with my brother from Denver and two of... More

Gene was our tour guide. He was a fun old timer that was very knowledgeable. We started out in the museum and worked our way around the block to the stairs leading us underneath the streets to the series of tunnels. There was a lot of very old artifacts. One unique artifact was a bottle of heroin in the pharmacy.... More

Found it amazing of the city underground and what prompted the people of Havre to go underground. This tour was very informative and fun to do. The tour guide was knowledgeable and had a wonderful sense of humor.

We had car issues which required a mechanic to inspect and repair our vehicle before we continued on our journey. Looking for something to do the receptionist recommended that we could spend a couple of hours to explore "Beneath the Streets". It is essentially a museum of the old town and full of history from the area with lots of... More
