First to review this, known as "Bozeman Beach"? Beach is OK in the summer, but views are not great. Picnic areas are nice. Did I mention "free," along with toilets? Beginners may learn to windsurf on the lake. Snorkeling not recommended. Very good hiking trails...More

Thanks for the feedback on the Park. This park is a continual work in progress, having initially been a former gravel pit, turned landfill turned community asset from hundreds of Rotarians over 23 years. The beach was built in the late 1990s, then a new...More

We got into Bozeman around 1, and wanted to go for a hike. This was a very nice spot--there is a reservoir, and a lot of good hiking along the river. There is also a trail that goes over to Cherry Creek, which is lovely...More

Great park with a beach that is super close to downtown (2 miles)! Kids loved playing in the water and sand. Locals were super nice too! Across the lake is brewery with grassy area to hang out in if you don't like sand.

Great for families as has small lake for swimming and nice flat hikes surrounding it. Not good for dogs that need a good run as not permited to be off leash.

Best to take your dog for a walk somewhere else because you can't have a dog in this park It would be nice if they would bring in cleaned sand the place is kind of dirtyMore

Hello Mukgo, You can walk your dog on the GVLT trails just outside the park boundary, just not inside the park. The city of Bozeman sets those rules to avoid animal/human confrontations and ensure reasonably good hygiene for those who use the lake. There are...More

I would not swim in this pond due to dogs. There are great BBQ's for the family to enjoy. The cinema is a walk away. Beautiful willow trees for shade. Also, ducks and ducklings abound in Spring.More

You might be confusing Bozeman Beach with Bozeman Pond. The Bozeman Pond is next to the Mall with the Cinema; this park is located at East Gallatin Recreation Area and is locally known as Bozeman Beach which is north of town adjacent to MAP Brewing...More

We've visited the park several times with friends to play with kayaks and paddle boards. Our youngest also took her wedding pictures there. A few people swim, but most lay around, throw frisbees, picnic, even fish a bit. A nice place to relax a bit...More

Thanks for the positive feedback. The most popular recent improvements have been the dock at the waters edge (for kids who love to do cannon-balls), plus the patio (for group and family gatherings), and beach volleyball. Hope you can enjoy more of these amenities over...More

As all types of water craft get more popular, we see more and more usage on the lake, which is what we wanted. Our free Kids Fishing event (always the 3rd Saturday of May) attracted 240+ kids and 200+ parents in 2018. Continue to enjoy...More

We live right down the road from the Bozeman beach. Our kids ride there bikes there all the time. I would say that they are there almost everyday in the summer. We have bbq's there all the time. Love this place.

Thanks Valerie, we are glad you use the park often with your family. Our Rotary Club enjoys our BBQs on-site too. Watch for some musical performances and more festival-type events taking place next year.

Thanks for reminding folks it is clean. The city of Bozeman, and our Rotary members, make routine sweeps of the grounds throughout the year to ensure its cleanliness.
