With some extra time on the way to the Billings Airport, we happened on the this terrific local art museum. The building was originally the Yellowstone County Jail built in 1884 and updated to the art museum in 1964. They had a wonderful traveling exhibit...More

Western themed for the most part, but plenty of interesting works of art to view. I "did" the whole thing in about 45 minutes but it was time well spent.

If you are in Billings, you must stop and see this Museum! Incredible contemporary art collection, art sales gallery and children's gallery for local art students. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They also have a great cafe! Make this part of your visit...More

Great contemporary museum with a wonderful childrens art program. Be sure to visit the Vault across the street to see artists in residence and items in the museum's permanent collection.
