Frequented by many locals, you will find many great hoppy selections. They have a good base of beers, plus 6 to 12 rotators that keep the menu fresh. They do have brows, reds, and stouts, but most everything has a hoppy edge. You can find...More

Not impressed. Usually breweries are friendly and a welcoming place to hang out and have a good time with friends. The staff was cranky and the place was filthy. There was a guy cleaning the tanks with a hose, water was splattering everywhere. There was...More

Carter's is currently expanding. 18+ beers on tap with sours regularly worked in. It's the best local brewery in town with lots of smiling faces and great beers. As a big beer drinker, if I could only visit one brewery, this would easily be the...More

Called in for a beer whilst visiting Billings and waiting to meet friends. Barman suggested some beers to try, all of which were amazing. Great friendly service and quirky location next to the railroad. Well worth a visit!

Just down the street from the Depot on the same side of Montana street. The tasting room is quite small and has the aroma of beer being brewed. Unfortunately, nothing about this place exudes cleanliness. We went 2 times over four days and found the...More

You have to squeeze into this place because it's tiny an they don't serve food but what a great place to stop for a few beers with friends. Super casual with friendly staff and reasonably priced beer. Fit it into your beer tours!

Excellent beer. Interesting post-industrial setting. Train lovers clearly own the place. One of the best breweries in Montana. And that's not faint praise. I live in MIssoula where we have 12 breweries and all of them brew good beer. If you like craft beer, styles...More

Of the many microbreweries we have in Billings, Carters is still the best. Smaller than some others with the best beer. His flagship ones are always a good go to, especially the porter, and the seasonal rotators are very pleasing.
