I was there for a conference and the surroundings were amazing. I took the lift up and hiked for a while and it was fantastic. The staff all seemed very friendly and helpful. The hotel room was rather poor but that is another review.

As to whitewater rafting, the water temp is in the 40s and they recommend that you rent wet suits and booties, which we did and they were perfect. Underneath, you can wear bathing suit with lycra/polyester shirt, but nothing made of cotton.
