didn't do much walking it was way too cold.but the building offers a warm venue for bird and animal watching as well as a nice museum. If nothing else they have an awesome fireplace and they pipe in bird sounds. almost like camping without freezing!...More

We come here often, when we are in Springfield, and are never disappointed with either the building, bird viewing room or long trail, which we took Christmas day. The Nature Center is a gem, no matter what the weather!

Just outside of Springfield, this center provides a path to hike towards Lake Springfield. The grade is pretty steep, so I wouldn't call it easy hike in that regard. The paths aren't terribly long, but twist and wind to make an enjoyable path just outside...More

This is an awesome place we go two three times every year especially in the summer and we get to see Eagles it is awesome you jog there it is just fun to see Nature and what the Lord has provided for us.

We really enjoy the trails. MDC does a nice job in this state, and provide a great way to get outdoors, see wildlife and enjoy nature, without much fuss at all. Walking and running - really a great place to go.
