WOW loved the current exhibits. The Route 66 exhibit was great fun and I especially loved the Airstream trailer. The Civil Rights exhibit was fantastic too. Great history museum.

The museum itself is centered almost entirely around the 1904 World's Fair. There are also some tired exhibits that show you what American kitchens looked like in the 194's. I prefer to only go here during the summer and fall for Twilight Tuesday on the lawn. My kids get their faces painted and I get to drink wine and play... More

Hi Rachel, thanks for reaching out! We're sorry to hear we didn't hold your attention on your last visit—our current exhibits on Route 66, St. Louis Civil Rights, and World War One in Missouri are much different from our World's Fair exhibit, and have been enormously popular! If you've not visited us recently, we'd encourage you to give us another... More

We have taken in a bit of the culture on this our first St Louis visit. The history museum was open until 8:00pm on Tuesdays so we walked over from the art museum that closed at 5:00pm. It was worth the extra walk. We only visited one exhibit, which was the civil rights exhibit. Very well curated, designed, and very... More

Bixbys offers a small menu with daily specials, but I have never had a bad meal. The exhibits are always educational and enlightening. Enjoyable day.

The Cardinal game was postponed due to rain so we all headed to the museum. None of us had ever been there & we all had a blast. Very interesting & so much to see. We especially enjoyed the exhibit about the 1904 Worlds Fair.

We stopped at the History Museum one afternoon when we had an hour to kill before dinner. The kids stayed in the car while the parents went in. We ended up coming back the next day and everyone when in that time and we spent a few hours there. The Route 66 exhibit was interesting to all of us (adults,... More

I haven't gone to the history museum often since moving to St. Louis over 10 years ago. Wow!!! Is that going to change. I'm not sure if they have a new director or board, but whomever or whatever has changed, it's totally gotten better. So good. The museum itself, is in a beautiful historic building honoring President Thomas Jefferson and... More
