The St. Louis Zoo is free although there is a charge for special exhibits and for the children's zoo. But there is plenty to see for free. They have a large collection of hoof stock, primates, insects and reptiles along with other traditional zoo animals. The zoo is easily walkable with lots of shade. It was a hot day, but... More

St. Louis has one of the best zoos in the U.S. I'm just not saying that because I happen to live here. I have been to quite a few zoos and non compare. Plus our zoo is free. And if you become a Zoo Friend parking is free as well. Even without becoming a member you can find free parking... More

This is, by far, the nicest, family-friendliest, and best value zoo we've visited. It's clean, diverse, and really warm. Lots for kids of all ages to see and do. If you have kids, this is a frequent must-visit.

It was already one of the best in the nation - but the new upgrades/exhibits keep it there. Love the new seal / sea lion area!

A fantastic zoo. Don't get suckered into paying $15 for parking-- there are plenty of free spots in Forrest Park if you're up for a short walk (approx. 0.25-0.5 miles)

Our family has been to many of the great zoos in the US and was still wowed by the St. Louis Zoo. This is on par with zoos in the Bronx, Washington DC etc. Do buy the pass that allows you unlimited access to the train and extra attractions, it is well worth the small fee.

This is one of the top zoos in the country. It is one of the only free super zoos in the country. The Penguins are our favorite. We plan a trip every year and our family sees something new. Must see if you are in the area.

What a wonderful way to spend a few hours or a day at the St. Louis Zoo. Entry fee is free making it really appealing for families and college students. Lots of people enjoy roaming nearby Forest Park, the Art Museum and other amenities. Parking can be a challenge on a sunny spring day, so allow time to walk.
