Quaint downtown, with a variety of shops

A mix of your typical touristy shops and nice shopping. We enjoyed walking the cobblestone streets and admiring the architecture.

Such a nice day shopping in lots of old fashion type mom & pop stores. Unique gifts and collectables, both old & new.

With all of the shops open, Christmas shopping is enjoyable, instead of a pain. Fun businesses with great places to eat. With Christmas decorations everywhere, and then the children pursuing the characters to get the trading cards. With music and dance and voting for the best GingerHread house, and a Santa parade, and a retelling of a Christmas Carol: Old... More

Block after block of historic, charming buildings all decked with festive greenery, bows, and twinkle lights, all inviting sights with an eclectic assortment of shoppes. Loved the holiday parade, carriage rides, hot roasted chestnuts (yum!), and entertaining character actors and Dickensian carolers. Will be back in the spring!

Very nice place to shop for gifts, food and boutique items. There are also some fun events they have through the year. The Christmas festival is great!

The ambiance of St Charles during the Christmas season is like no other place. All of the shops are open and everything is decorated with lights There are Old Time Santas and other Christmas characters in the streets You can take a horse drawn carriage ride. It is definitely a good place to visit.

An historic district almost fully restored full of shops and unique restaurants with very good food. Even the bicycle shop has a menu! The cobblestone streets are quaint. It was a joy to walk and wander through the little stores.

Great walk down old Main Street. Bring some walking shoes. Plan out where you want to eat. HINT: pick up a map of the shops at one of the local businesses. I tried the Lewis and Clark restaurant and it was very good. The brewery at the end of the street is supposed to be really good. Nice shops. Wish... More
