The roar of engines breaks the stillness of the Old Lead Belt at St. Joe State Park, one of two off-road vehicle parks in the state system. The sand flats, hills, and 2,000 acres set aside for off-road vehicle use make the park the premiere off-road vehicle area. The park also features four lakes, with two swimming beaches, an equestrian trail, a hiking and bicycling trail, and picnic sites, as well as two campgrounds capable of accommodating campers with ORV or horse trailers.

This park is great for visiting with children. Had a good time and kids had a blast. Coming in the Fall is a bonus.

We did this trail a long time ago, but even now (years later - now we're in our 50s) we enjoyed it. This time we brought our teenage son along. The trail has a good amount of variety in the scenery and grade. They say the best way to go around the 11-mile loop is clockwise, but be aware of... More

The camping sites are 100+ feet long to fit large rv's plus a truck pulling a long trailer. the have a large patio area with a large grassy area which is nice for pets. we come here several times a year for the kids to ride and me to hike. They have a nice paved road bike trail that runs... More

If you want a day out with family.. This is the place. You can go for walks, ride on the bike trails, bring a dirt bike or 4 wheeler and enjoy the sands.

Great hiking through the woods or take a chance to stroll for 12 miles on the paved trail. Additional bonus: you may meet another higher or two, no crowds whatsoever. Needless to say it is beautiful when you can have the entire place all to yourlsef. Even on weekends.

No place to park off beaten path without returning to find note saying you can't park here. They need more access points for those that want to just hike without walking paved trails!

Great trails and open area's to ride your 4 wheeler, dirt bike or UTV. I've seen a lot of UTV'S today. They do have a area for kids but we was kicked off of with a 4 year old because his 4 wheeler is a 90 and "too big". There was only 5 kids riding and all 5 was under... More

St. Joe is probably the best spot in Missouri to take your off road vehicles. There are countless miles of trails and open flats to ride. The adjacent campground is good for the whole family. In addition to the motorized trails there are also equestrian and bicycle trails to explore. The park also has a few small to medium sized... More

Wife and I love riding our bikes around the 13 mile paved trail. THis place doesn't get that much traffic, at least not as much as it should.
