If you are around when the ship comes in, it is a must see. Also great to see the fishing charters going out and coming back. Even more exciting on a day when the sea is up. Hats off to the drivers of the boats who do a fantastic job of it all.

You'll see the pier if you visit the museums, and if nothing is happening, it's a very boring pier. But if a ship is offshore, and the waves are not too rough, it's fascinating to see the island's lifeline to the world in operation. Everything from groceries to cars and buses are brought ashore in pretty much the same way... More

The story behind its construction is amazing - Man's ingenuity knows no bounds. Interesting to stroll down it and imagine its history

Unless a ship is unloading it's just a pier. Fortunately on my first visit in 2005 I got to witness one. It's such a big event that it attracts quite a crowd. To see how goods, sometimes including vehicles, are offloaded onto barges and taken to the pier then offloaded there is really interesting. The weather determines if it unloads... More

Fascinating structgure and best to see when unloading a freighter with lighters and launch. A sight unique to Norfolk Island and the boatmanship is absorbing and exciting to watch.

a must if a cargo ship is off loading to the island as this is one of the only ways the island can receive there supplies, interesting to watch as new cars are bought a shore by rowing boats

We purchased some fantastic fish from the locals and watched while others landed a shark, to release later. The locals are always helpful and smiling.

It was relatively calm when we viewed the wharf - only small waves crashing over! Would be great to see when seas are very rough - or to view cargo being delivered.

A lovely little pier in a most picturesque setting. Fascinating to see how supplies are/were loaded and unloaded and how the ships have to navigate the treacherous reef to dock at the pier. Also the historical nature of the Fleets and Bounty settlements close by.
