We booked a 3 day tour with De Una to Cano Cristales because they offered a very early flight from Bogota (meeting at the airport at 5:00 am) to get the most out of the 3 days. The 1st day was a disappointment. We visited a small river in the area for some hours to have some swimming time but... More

All logistics are well done, just make sure you book with top Agencies like "Ecoturismo Macarena" and you will be fine, they have rules for visitors like Sunscreen use is not allowed.

We traveled to Cano Cristales in the summer of 2016. After seeing some spectacular pictures online and reading the descriptions we could hardly wait to get there. Over the period of three days we did A LOT of walking, driving on some very bumpy roads and using the boat. The first day we got to a local river, which was... More

One of the most awesome experiences I've had so far! I booked a 3d2n tour with viator - which was extremely expensive. If you have the luxury of time allowing for flexibility, I would suggest that you get a flight into La Macarena for a weekday (make sure you avoid any long weekends/national holidays as park passes can and will... Great trip! Long walks but relatively easy and definitely worthwhile. The views are amazing and the people incredible. Punto Verde hotel is basic, as expected, but very comfortable and the staff very welcoming , specially Doña Mercedes, the Administrator. The guides, Johana and Rigo from Ecoturismo Macarena, were very attentive and had a great sense of humour. Delays in flights... More

To visit Cano Crsitales, you have to be super prepared as this is a real ecotourism adventure. The best way to get here is to booked a tour with agencies in advance. The price will include round trip air tickets, accommodation, food, water, transport, and guide. The 3 days 2 night would be around 1.3 -1.4 million peso. In 3... More

I would say Caño Cristales is a hidden gem that is slowly and carefully opening to tourism. -What is it? Caño Cristales is a river with different water plants in it which makes it look as if the water had different colours depending on which part of the river you are in. I was there 2 weeks ago (september) and... More

Summary: If you go to La Macarena to visit Cano Cristales, I highly recommend that you make sure you do NOT get JORLEY for your guide.. She was heartless and gave us a very disappointing experience. Background: Unfortunately, this trip was a huge disappointment for us. If you have looked at any photos online, your expectations are probably very high,... More

It was amazing. Unfortunately was very short. But people and guides are very friendly. The the rivers and the various colors were unbelievable.
