Different and fun!

Wonderful museum full of artifacts uncovered from a sunken riverboat. There is so much to see that has managed to be preserved. Gives a great look at the past.

Always a great day to step back in time and see the treasure dug up on this steam ship. You will not regret this stop.

My husband and I visited on a Saturday just on a whim. The guided tour through the museum is short but very interesting! If you are looking for something to do that is fairly cheap I would suggest checking it out.

Such a fascinating place. The brother who found it was actually there to talk to. The water wheel and the actual parts of ship was cool.

We enjoyed getting a glimpse of life on a steamboat. We were very surprised that the supplies found on the boat had been preserved so well.

This museum came recommended by a local. Our guide was excellent. The whole story about the ship - with it hitting a snag & sinking in the MO river followed by the recovery of the artifacts is fascinating. A large number of items were recovered & on display. It surprised me how very interesting this museum is. I highly recommend... More

A sunken Missouri steamboat, recovered in astonishingly well preserved condition, displaying a wonderful look of life pre-Civil war on the frontier..as in thousands of items, all displayed well, a look at the workings of steamboats, and a totally cool story of how they dug the boat up...just a real gem, way more than one would expect, and I highly recommend... To be truthful, when my hostess told me we were going to the steamboat museum, my reaction was lukewarm. Was I in for a treat, however. The story of the family that unearthed the Arabia and the history of the mid-1800s that goes along with the steamship was fascinating. Tours are frequent. The guide gives a quick introduction and a... More
