Went to the park over the summer. Beautiful area right outside the St. Louis area. Highly recommended for a family to visit.

If you are a trail runner you already know this park. If you do not yet, then you will be very happy to discover this secret place. This is a long hike in a challenging terrain, uphill and rocky.

It has just a few picnic spots, but a pavilion at the end of the park has a historic panoramic picture story of the geological composite, wildlife, and early settlers of this area. A trail begins at the pavilion and ends at Lone Elk... More

West Tyson is a park that is away exclusively woods. It's got a nice central trail that is hilly. The park connects to other county parks on the back side. You might see deer and will surely see small wildlife.
