The clear waters of Stockton Lake beckon visitors to water ski, scuba dive, swim, or fish. And Stockton State Park is the perfect place to do it. It’s a perfect place for sailing – with perpetual southwest breeze and a nationally recognized sailing school housed at the marina. Two boat launches make it easy to get in the water, as does a swimming beach. Want to stay on land? The park is great for photographing wildlife, picnicking with the family, or just reveling in the beauty of southern Missouri. The park also offers a range of lodging from campsites to cabins.

If the weather is nice and you want an outdoorsy get-away, this is a good spot. The camping is basic with electric in the off season. The prices are less, and it is on the honor system with an envelope/pay station at the entrance. Understandably, the crowds are less as well. There are no showers or flushing toilets, as the... Nice big lake with many coves. Fishing is great and boating is adventerous. Many areas around the lake to stop and have a cookout and enjoy the view.

We enjoyed the lake but need some up keep on camp sites. We were in Loop A and only electric hook ups. The water faucet barely worked, the rest rooms bad and the showers were disgusting!! Maybe somebody needs to check the workers to see if doing their jobs! The staff at Orleans Marina were great! Not sure if go... More

The shoreline, even at DESIGNATED BEACHES, is rocky. Wearing shoes is a must. Not what I expected from a beach. I want my feet to NOT hurt when I'm on vacation.

I agree, on of the best kept secrets for a wonderful lake in Missouri. Planning on making this a annual trip for some excellent fishing.

Stockton Lake has several access points that provide good birding opportunities. The deep water attracts Common Loons in autumn and early spring. The many Corps of Engineers properties and Stockton State Park have road systems and campground areas that provide birding access to the lake coves and the wooded, savanna, or grass areas for good birding in any season. The... More

My husband and I have been coming here to fish two and three times a year since 2007.. It has not disappointed! We did not have fish jumping in the boat every trip but still had plenty in the freezer when we got home.. Besides bull shoals it has a plentiful walleye population thanks to it's cold clear water and... More

Stockton State Park Marina is a gorgeous place for a day or weekend getaway. The rooms at the park (and Mt. Carmel Inn which borders the park) are incredibly clean and well kept. They keep them up to date, and you can tell cleanliness is important to the staff. The staff is really friendly, and the food is great. Try... More

We spent 4th of July weekend here and we couldn't have had a better time. Two full days on the water and we felt like we had the lake to ourselves. Both days we found coves that were sheltered from the wind and the waves, which weren't bad anyways. There were other boats on the water but it never felt... More
