We rode about 55 miles of the trail and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We rode on Mon-Wed and several of the little restaurants and shops along the route were closed in the smaller towns. I would highly recommend the section from Clifton City to Cooper's Landing, we also rode a section from Portland to Rhineland which was nice. We are not... More

We recently biked the Katy Trail with my son's Boy Scout troop. The autumn air was cool and the colors of the leaves had begun to change along the Missouri river. The trails are well maintained and easy to navigate. Most of the bicycle ride from Hartsburg to New Franklin was flat so be prepared to peddle. There is little... More

Three of us started in Clinton and rode all the way to Saint Charles. It is always nice to ride bike where there is no traffic. The trail goes along the Missouri River much of the way. The views are beautiful. The trail is pretty well maintained, although heavy rain had caused a number of washouts when we went in... More

I have only been on the trail in St. Charles County. There is plenty of trail parking in downtown St. Charles, in Weldon Springs and smaller lots near some of the wineries. The trail does not start to get pretty until after the Family Arena going West from downtown St. Charles. The trail is easy, since it is primarily the... More

Start your trip in Rocheport where there is food, and shopping, don't worry if you don't have a bike they are available to rent, beautiful scenery of the Missouri River on one side and lofty bluffs on the other, historical stops along the way point out the Lewis and Clark trail, Rocheport has the only tunnel on the trail, if... This trail is sublime. Easy riding, sweet river view, towering bluffs. Great amenities every so many miles. Cannot recommend it enough. We want to come back to do another portion of the trail. Also it seems like a very safe place to enjoy riding, walking, running, strollering, etc.

So I am a bit partial to this, since my driveway is connected to the actual trail, but it truly is 1 of the greatest sources of exercise we have in St. Charles county. The pea gravel surface is great for the joints but can be a bit messy if biking after a rain (unless you have a splash guard).... More

A beautifully kept trail with very cool depots along the way. The Boonville Depot is especially a must-see. The do-over is absolute perfection. A very unique building and caboose. Great historical info on the plaques. A very enjoyable visit.
