This is a gorgeous place to spend the day or stay overnight. There are trails, piers for fishing, boat launch, campground, a great visitor center and plenty of wildlife to see. A great family atmosphere and natural beauty abounds. We see alligators almost every time we visit the park.

This park is amazing. It is not very crowded, offers camping, fishing, boating, and wildlife viewing. We see alligators sunning every time we go. There is a wonderful picnic area for family gatherings. Enjoy a great nature walk!

A must visit any time of year! The kids really enjoyed it! The sea gulls were hungry too so bring a loaf of bread to share!

The location is relatively good---that is until you hear the damn train rolling in at 5 am with it's horn blaring. We had a bit of reprieve on the weekend---didn't come until 7am! When the train is running, it's pretty quiet and peaceful. No place to really go off trail with a bicycle b/c there's a lot of bayou around.... More

Not to be missed. Our fourth visit and it gets better every time. Spotted an egret this time but alas no alligator...😐 Kids just love the place. Nice outdoor break from phones&tablets.

This was just a one night stopover from Dallas to Orlando, but what a surprise this place was. The place was very scenic and the short hiking trails were very enjoyable. Unfortunately, we had to leave next day but I would like to come back again to explore the park some more in detail. We saw some turtles and a... More

great walk on the trails that let you see the original side of Mississippi. On a quick walk we saw an alligator, several types of birds, turtles and frogs. A joy young or old.

I am so happy that the National Park Service preserves the wilderness and beauty in otherwise built up areas such as this. We were slightly disappointed to realize the trails were so short and uneventful, but really I'm happy any time I'm on a trail. The Visitors Center was great! They packed a whole lot of information and interactive displays... More

This is a small campground, 52 sites. I would recommend reservations, as they were full the whole time we were there.Although this is part of the Gulf Islands National seashore, you are not close to the gulf. It is in the marsh. There are alligators sunning themselves, and lots of turtles No swimming!.There are some hiking/biking trails, very well maintained.... More
