Po Monkey joined us at our table and seemed to really like the Black Seal Rum we brought. He sells beer & set-ups. He stayed with us most of the night except when he ran off to change into funny costumes. The dancing was great and we loved every minute. Finally had to leave about 1 am. Going back this... More

I spent many great evenings here as a guest of Willie Seaberry--who sadly passed away recently. Not sure what the long-term outlook is, but it's hard to imagine it surviving much longer without him. Willie was Po' Monkey, and Po' Monkey's.

My daughter and I went to Po Monkey's in 2011.This is a juke joint playing delta blues by a DJ. You will not find it without directions. We had to ask the owner of Abe's BBQ in Clarksdale how to get there. His hand written directions on the back of napkin was our GPS for this shack at the edge... More

It was closed, but still an authentic piece of history. It is a functioning juke joint, so probably can't go in with kids. And if you come in the daytime, it's locked up.

This was fun, certainly an adventure to find, full of locals AND visitors. The owner who told us his name was "Po Monkey" performed humorous skits. He was keeping an eye on everything all the while, making sure all felt welcome. I only wish there was live blues music.

We visited one Thursday in May, it was great trying to find it, my black rental car ended up grey with the dust from the stone roads. Everyone inside really friendly and welcoming, we took a bottle of scotch to break the ice and it worked. It's a fabulous place and a privilege to visit, hope it never changes.

This was an amazing experience. It is an old Delta juke joint and is authentic. So, do not go here expecting liquor or a spotless interior. It is a fun place to go drink a beer with friends and be welcomed by people who do not care about your skin color. Racism dies when you walk through those doors. Can't... More

Located down a short dirt road, Po'Monkey's is an authentic juke joint with lots of local flavor. It is just like a house party inside. Be aware that only beer and mixers are sold; people are allowed to BYOB as long as they purchase mixers. The Thursday night I was there there was a DJ, and the place was full.... More

Po' Monkey's Lounge is a traditional juke joint with a TON of character, from its unique interior decorating (picture a ceiling filled with stuffed monkeys sent from fans across the globe), to its owner, Willie, who welcomes people into his abode. Po'Monkey's is only open on Thursday night - expect a crowd and be ready to sweat. The place is... More
