Stopped by the Trace Information Center at Kosciusko to get info about the Trace and Oprah Winfrey's homeplace. They didn't have info on it but gave us directions. Have watched Oprah throughout her rise in fame...so a visit to her roots was interesting. There is only a sign at the location of her parents former house with just a bit... More

I spent about a year in Kosciusko and, frankly, my skin still crawls every time I hear, speak or type the name. Oprah hasn't "invested" money in this place because it isn't worthy. She didn't have good experiences here and neither will you. Skip it if you can.

Nothing to see but a old house. It is a shame that a multi millionaire has done mother for her home town. No money spent to improve education, books for library, health care equipment or wing oh hospital or civic services in Attala County or Kosusko Mississippi. Thanks for nothing Oprah.

No a big fan of Oprah... but I hear and read people say Kosciusko needs to do something about Oprah birthplace... Well they have tried to pave the road but she didn't want too. So she needs to donate some time and money herself to make her birthplace nicer for people that drives forever just to see it. The boys... More

I really don't like her. I feel that if God took time to let u make it and never once did you think about how u had to live to get were ur at. I'm happy she made it but to forget where u came from is just crazy. The only thing u did was get a Boys & Girls... More

You would think that Oprah, with her gazillion dollars would do something with this place as much as she likes the limelight. A reconstruction and a museum wouldn't cost {her} that much and I'm sure it would get a lot of visitors as she is adored by millions (-1, I'm not a big fan) and would add some bucks to... More

We went quite a bit out of our way to see Oprah's birthplace which turned out to be a sign. There is a church nearby that notes that is the place where she had her first audience.

Well, there's a sign and some seats, so while she's an incredible woman it's hard to review this particular monument. It was interesting to see the town in which she was born though.

We were excited to know that the small town we were visiting was a birth place for Oprah Winfrey's, But very disappointed after visiting the spot, Place was hard to find, need some cleaning around the spot, currently no real house were she was born, They should make replica of the house for visitors, Like the one in Tupelo for... We visited Oprah Winfrey road on our trip from New Orleans to Clarksdale. It was a bit out of our way but I am glad we did it. It feels good to have been to this quiet town in Mississippi and to know that someone like Oprah started her life here. It is proof that dreams can come true and... More
